Louis pulled off a superb exit from the dock on his departure from the Royal Newfoundland Yacht Club. People from the sailing club honked their horns and wished him "good wind/safe sailing". Everything to be in a festive state of mind, especially since he hasn't sailed for a year. He was happy to be back on the water, in his element.

To get his adventure off to a good start, he embarked on his navigation in fairly thick fog, he couldn't see anything around the boat and had to rely on his radar to guide him.

After a few hours, he had to stop at Portugal Cove because he had problems with his main autopilot. So Matt, our trusted man in Newfoundland, a great help since a year, went to find him there to find a solution. They called everywhere to finally find a part in Halifax which they urgently ordered to receive it the next morning. They will therefore repair and calibrate the autopilot before Louis continues his journey.

This photo reminds me so much of our trip last summer when we stopped at Rose Blanche and had to tie up to another boat of the same style. You'll probably see it in a future post about our adventures from last year, but I'll focus on this trip for now.
