We've decided to take a vacation vacation

Since it is possible, we might as well take a vacation in our vacation, no!
Since we are in an all-inclusive tourist sector; in fact, it's as if we were in the southern islands (Cuba, Dominican Republic, etc.) for Europe, we enjoy time at the beach before taking a short vacation from Soleau 1 to discover the island from El Hierro by ferry because otherwise (if we take our sailboat) we would run out of time to receive our friends in a few days.
Beautiful afternoon at the beach! We feel like we are down south (of America). The same style of vendors who want to sell us cold drinks, pareos or large towels to rest with the family. It is different and similar at the same time.
We then take the 5:30 p.m. ferry to El Hierro. Gravol taken just in case. There is not much wind today, but near El Hierro there will be more.
Sitting in a small lounge at the front, we nibble. We discuss our next excursions. We play cards, I win!
I see a dolphin jumping towards the ferry. It is so tiny from above. They are so beautiful on a sailboat, very close to us. Everything changes depending on the perspective, trust me!
We pass near La Gomera. It is so beautiful! We continue towards El Hierro with the sun going down. We finally see the island. The waves are a bit bigger. Very happy not to have made this crossing by sailboat, it would have been very long, more difficult on the way back and we would have run out of time. Now we can enjoy the island a little more and then we will return to Soleau 1 looking forward to discovering the next island.
We arrive at the port about twenty minutes late. The ferry's accompanying boat (pilot boat) is shaken a little by the waves. Not sure if he will manage to pass the ferry before the wall, but I imagine that the helmsman of the ferry slowed down to let him pass because otherwise he would have had no chance between us and the breakwater wall.
We get off the ferry to go to the counter of Cicar, the car rental company. We have a small Fiat for a few days.

Louis gets a hamburger with an egg, inside the building, to eat on the way and we will share it. The Fiat is so small, adorable and surprisingly well thought out and comfortable! It has been Louis' favorite car since the beginning of our vacation (3 rented in total).
We start the 18km road which should take us about 50 minutes. It's that there are curves. In addition, in the dark, with sometimes fog, uh, I mean clouds (yes yes), no streetlights to give us light, nor ramparts on the side of the roads: if we go off the road, there is little chance of survival on the ocean/cliff side. We can't see very well, but Louis doesn't put the lights up/brighter, we can only see a few feet in front of the car. I don't understand his technique, but he's having fun.
We managed to have communication with our accommodation around 9:20 p.m., I was starting to be a little scared. They will be waiting for us (she only speaks in Spanish).
Anecdote: (a little scabrous, I apologize)
I have a little gas in the car:
Louis: did you fart?
Er, yes, a mini, without doing it on purpose
Louis: Open your window (I'm looking for the button)
I'm not able, I can't find the button
(Louis opens it): a chance that I looked before leaving, otherwise I would have died (a bit dramatic the captain)
We managed to find the place, at least to be very close. We park and I start walking to find the door number; I don't find it. I go back to Louis and he talks with a Spanish man who speaks a few words in English: his sister now lives in Boston, I imagine that helps, but maybe it's not related. He is a fisherman. He tells us to come and see him at the fish market ("pescaderia") tomorrow for some fish. I knew “pescador” for fish, so we made the connection. He calls our accommodation since we cannot find the address. She will come to join us.
We arrive in the spacious lobby of our portion of the building, it seems quite new and clean. We enter the apartment/condo, it is small but super functional: equipped kitchen, living room, bathroom, terrace overlooking the swimming pool. Louis whispers in my ear, with worried eyes "where is the bedroom?". We ask and she opens another door, Fiou! Nice room! I think the couch turned into a bed anyway, but the captain had a moment of discomfort, I would say.
So we sign the papers, without having understood what was written there, but we took a photo as proof. I ask how to get to the pool, there is a brown door near the bar, on the street. Ok, we'll see tomorrow.
I look in the bathroom to see if there is shampoo and soap: Louis told me to leave ours on the boat, that there would be some at the hotel. Well no! In fact, I'm not sure if it's considered a hotel, maybe more like an Airbnb without it. These are rooms/apartments that we occupy for our stay and that they clean afterwards. They are not all small hotel rooms. On the other hand, we have a bottle of water in the fridge and a quesadilla on the counter. Kind attention!
So we wash with water and sleep around midnight. Tomorrow, we will discover the island in the light of day.
